BTA+

BTA+ is a subsidiary online learning platform launched by the Bermuda Tourism Authority that delivers industry-related training and educational lessons to inspire individuals, businesses, and partners with the purpose of strengthening our island’s reputation as a destination of choice. With a new outlook on learning, we aim to provide engaging, interactive, and informative courses that will assist in developing a knowledgeable workforce.

Cost: Courses range from Free to $75. There is no cost to register on the platform.

Future Proof

Future Proof is a Bar Training Program built by renowned bartenders to provide foundational knowledge and techniques to excel as a hospitality professional. Future Proof Digital’s curriculum includes introductory modules covering service, cocktail history, bar tools & techniques, ingredient prep, spirits production, and classic cocktail recipes.

Complete the course during April 2024, and you’ll automatically qualify for a chance to win a Toast and Taste Experience with four of your friends. The winner will be announced on May 3rd. The prize cannot be exchanged for its cash value. Each person is limited to one entry.

TIPS Certification

TIPS stands for Training for Intervention Procedures. Participants leave this training equipped to:

  • Spot underage drinkers and prevent alcohol sales to minors.
  • Intervene quickly and assuredly in potential problem situations.
  • Understand the difference between people enjoying themselves and those getting into trouble with alcohol.
  • Handle alcohol related situations with greater confidence.
  • Use proven strategies to prevent alcohol related problems.

TIPS training courses are now available for registering and can be completed via video conference or in-person. Spaces are given on a first paid, first served basis. Each establishment, or group of establishments, may register up to ten people for each training session, depending on the available spaces.

As of June 2011, TIPS certification became mandatory for managers, supervisors and persons in charge of bars at on-premises licensed facilities.
